Ningbo Maritime Court holds forum for shipping and freight forwarders
The shipping and freight forwarder forum
Ningbo Maritime Court held a forum for shipping and freight forwarders, inviting industry representatives to come up with suggestions and proposals on maritime trials and judicial services on July 12.
The participants include the president and vice-president of the Yiwu International Freight Logistics Association and representatives from globally renowned shipping companies including China Cosco Shipping Corporation, Maersk and CMA CGM.
Zhang Qingshan, vice-president of Ningbo Maritime Court, said that the work of maritime courts can’t lose contact with the general public and the industry.
It’s therefore necessary to take advice from representatives of the industry on their maritime judicial requirements so that the services of the court can be improved, according to Zhang.
He also said that in the future it will be necessary to improve the work in aspects such as standardizing a code of practice, regularly releasing instructional cases and offering targeted legal training.
