Maritime Court signs B＆R cooperation agreement with intermediate court
The Shanghai Maritime Court signed a cooperation agreement with Lianyungang Intermediate People’s Court on August 29 to guarantee the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative.
The two courts will work to meet judicial requirements in the construction of joint rail and water transportation arising from the Belt and Road Initiative.
Shanghai and Lianyungang enjoy location advantages in the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative. Shanghai Maritime Court has established a detached tribunal in Lianyungang to cooperate with Lianyungang Intermediate Court in providing judicial services and guaranteeing the construction of land-ocean transportation.
According to the agreement, the two sides will strengthen exchanges on trials of B＆R-related cases, raise working standards and build a sound business legal environment.
It’s also stipulated in the agreement that the two sides should work to resolve contradictions and disputes, promote the construction of diversified dispute settlement mechanisms and build a harmonious and stable social environment.
An execution coordination mechanism is also established in the agreement to protect the rights and interests of successful litigants. In addition, circuit trials and mutual-assistance measures are put in place to facilitate litigation and to extend judicial service functions.
